Canadian Pacific Holiday Train

The Holiday Train, which is about 1,000 feet in length, has 14 rail cars decorated with hundreds of thousands of technology-leading LED lights and a modified boxcar that has been turned into a traveling stage for performers.​ Once the Holiday Train has safely come to a stop at Gage Park, a stage will appear on the side of the train and feature a free concert from Canadian country music artists Kelly Prescott and Doc Walker.

Please bring heart-healthy, non-perishable food donations to the event and drop them off at the Food Share truck or with Food Share volunteers in the crowd.

The Nutcracker Holiday Lunchtime Ballet 101

Tuesday November 29th @ 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

Canada’s Ballet Jörgen presents The Nutcracker Holiday Lunchtime Ballet 101 from 12:15 p.m. to 12:50 p.m. in the Hamilton Spectator Auditorium. Ballet Jörgen company dancers, wearing beautiful costumes from The Nutcracker, will perform excerpts from the upcoming production of The Nutcracker: A Canadian Tradition. Additional activities include poster signings, a meet and greet with the dancers, and photo opportunities. Admission is free and doors open at noon so don’t miss this opportunity to meet Klara, woodland creatures, and Lord and Lady Birch. “DECK THE HALL with the 40th Anniversary of the Christmas Tree of Hope” is scheduled to be held on Friday, December 2nd from 5 pm to 9 pm at the City Hall forecourt.

In addition to the lighting of the tree at 6 pm, the event will feature live music, tasty treats, mascots, visits with Santa, and festive lighting at City Hall to celebrate this special anniversary. A temporary ice rink with free skate rentals will be open to the public from December 2nd to December 9th.
