Big Benefits with Hemp
Hemp hearts (or seeds) are considered to be one of nature’s most nutrient dense foods. They have been used for thousands of years as a source of fibre, healthy fats, and nutrients. Since it is not uncommon to have a diet lacking of these essential fatty acids, adding hemp hearts to your diet is a sure way to keep you covered.
Hemp hearts have a slightly nutty flavour. They can be incorporated into almost any dish. Try them as a salad or smoothie topper, in yogurt or oatmeal, add them to pasta sauces or just eat them by the spoonful. For those who are sensitive to gluten, hemp seeds can be used as a replacement for bread crumbs. Similar to almonds, hemp hearts can also be blended into a nutritious milk replacement. When buying hemp hearts, remember they are packed with fatty acids that are sensitive to heat and light. Buy them in opaque containers and store them in the freezer for ultimate freshness.
