Local Bounty Boxes are filled with a variety of fresh produce, with a particular focus on enjoying the best of what is available from our local region in each season.
What’s in the Bounty Box?
The Local Bounty Box prioritizes local produce. As availability, prices, and quality constantly fluctuate, at times we round out the contents with imported produce. When we do so, we prioritize organic and Fair Trade products to maximize the quality. Each week, you can expect a variety of greens, fruits, root vegetables, other items – the ingredients for your favourite menus and sometimes a few surprises. We bring you the first and best of each season, celebrating the variety and flavours as they’re available.
Small Size- Typically feeds 1-2 people: $24.99 (price includes delivery)
Large Size- Typically feeds 3-4 people: $39.99 (price includes delivery)
Any order placed before Monday at midnight will be available for delivery on the same week. Orders placed after midnight on Monday will apply to the following week.
Please note: Bounty Boxes come in non-insulated boxes. We strongly recommend that you leave out a large cooler for Bikeables riders to leave your goods in! This will help to minimize wilting of greens and other sensitive items.

Locally Grown Vegetables

Broccoli grows like a tree with a thick, edible trunk that sprouts leaves, or branches and clusters of small, tight flower heads that turn bright green when cooked.
Broccoli has been widely known to be a valuable source of carotenoids that have antioxidant properties capable of preventing and reducing risks of cancer and cardiovascular diseases.
Broccoli will keep, refrigerated, for up to a week.

- saute carrots, onions and celery in a pot, add chopped broccoli, cauliflower, brussels sprouts and vegetable stock then cook until softened and puree into soup
- add chopped broccoli florets to egg custard, pour into par-baked tart shell and bake until set
- toss fresh broccoli with grated carrots and a mayo-based dressing for a cold salad
- cook chopped broccoli with cream, then puree and strain into a sauce for seafood or pasta

The stems and trunk are firm and tender and the florets have a dense yet soft and crumbly texture. Its flavor is mild with subtle cruciferous and nutty sweet nuances, a taste which is amplified when roasted. The entire cauliflower, its leaves, trunk, stems and florets are all edible.
Cauliflower is high in both fiber and vitamin C, with a half cup of florets providing nearly half of ones daily requirement for vitamin C. It also contains a fair amount of vitamin A, folate, calcium and potassium as well as selenium, which works with Vitamin C to boost the immune system. Cruciferous vegetables such as cauliflower are touted for their high levels of cancer-fighting phytochemicals know as glucosinolates.
